Olli Koski won Maantie-Cup 2013.

Olli Koski won this year’s Maantie-Cup with flat performances and 103 points. Koski’s team Visillatalot-Continental was also most successful in the cup.

Petri K. Leppänen was second and Hannu Onnela third. TWD-Länken’s Samuel Pökälä was fourth after ten races.

Maantie-Cup has been driven since 80’s and until now there hasn’t been double victory. That’s why triple victory of Visillatalot-Continental from Tampere is historical. The team with its leaders Petri K. Leppänen and Tero Hämeenaho set goal to win the cup already in January. In practice team between eight guys is mixture of veterans and young spurt men. Season wasn’t easy for cup winner Olli Koski because practicing during spring was hard because of illness.

-       In March at Mallorca was depressive to watch others go while I couldn’t do anything. In May after few races I got to the same speed as others and could give my best for the team. Winning the cup was goal of whole team and it would have been hard without the others. Olli Koski said after the winning has been resolved.

Team leader Petri K. Leppänen confirms that work between whole team was key of good results of this season.

-       Tactics were created basing competition and came true pretty good. In the Elite series level has gone up, apex has been wider and top drivers can be found almost from every team. Victories have been distributed to many different drivers during summer. It was good result from us because competition on top is hard and there is no favorite on any of races. Says Leppänen.
