Heat-insulating features

Ekovilla is the insulating material that is applied on area by sputtering and that has the high level of the heat insulation, in Finland it is 0,041 W/mK.

Adaptability to mounting manufacture

Moisture resistance

Ekovilla is a material that “breathes”. It keeps balance between the temperature and humidity of the construction and it doesn’t need extra waterproofing.

Even the humidity boost ad 20 % doesn’t influence on Ekovilla capability to retain properties. It is explained by the wicking properties of cellulose of which Ekovilla is made.

If the humidity grows, capillary fibers take up the superfluous moisture and then expulse it outside. It keeps a house from condensate. The houses warmed with Ekovilla “breathe” as the wooden houses. That’s why that kind of houses doesn’t need extra vapor barrier.

Fire safety

Ekovilla is remarkable for inflaming resistance. Contained in Ekovilla antipyrene adds the good fire-fighting properties to material. Ekovilla doesn’t inflame and doesn’t melt, but only molder and fume a little.

No-shrink condition and durability

The construction with the insulant Ekovilla passed the oscillating test. It showed that there is almost no shrinkage. And it is one of the most important properties of Ekovilla. Early cellulose insulation had those properties. Framed houses made with the cellulose insulation at the beginning of the last century are used till now.

Sound insulation

Ekovilla has good soundproofing properties. Those properties have been tested and proved in practice. The rooms insulated by Ekovilla defended against sound two times better than the rooms insulated by mineral wool slabs.

Ecological compatibility

Ekovilla is made from a waste paper and it is harmless for environment and for people. Natural cellulose fibers and boron compounds are not volatile.
